District Cricket Association Moga Organizes U-16 & U-19 Cricket Trials at Blooming Buds School

Moga, July 13, 2025 — The District Cricket Association (DCA) Moga successfully conducted selection trials for the Under-16 and Under-19 cricket teams on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Blooming Buds School, Moga. These trials were held to identify and nurture young cricketing talent from the district for upcoming Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) tournaments.

The event saw active participation from around 80 young cricketers from different schools, academies, and rural areas of Moga. Each player was assessed through a combination of net practice, skill drills, match simulations, and fitness tests.

The trials were conducted under the leadership of Mr. Kamal Arora, Honorary General Secretary of DCA Moga, who expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and the quality of players.
"It is inspiring to see the enthusiasm and potential among these young players. DCA Moga remains committed to giving every talented cricketer the opportunity to grow and compete at higher levels," said Mr. Arora.

The selection process was spearheaded by Head Coaches Manjeet Kumar and Beant Singh, who were supported by a skilled coaching panel that included Harshdeep Singh, Deepak Kumar, Kapil Dev, and Harsimran Singh. The coaches monitored the players closely to ensure a fair and transparent evaluation based on performance, skill, and discipline.

Speaking after the trials, Coach Manjeet Kumar said, “We were impressed by the raw talent on display. With structured training, these players have the potential to become strong assets for the district and beyond.”

Coach Beant Singh added, “This platform is vital for young players. We’re not just looking at current performance but also long-term potential and attitude on the field.”

The trials were conducted in a professional manner with well-organized sessions and proper facilities. The DCA extended its sincere thanks to the management and staff of Blooming Buds School for their excellent cooperation and for providing top-class infrastructure for the trials.

The list of shortlisted players from both categories (U-16 & U-19) will be published soon. These selected players will be invited to attend advanced coaching camps, leading up to final team selections for the district’s representation in PCA tournaments.

With such initiatives, DCA Moga continues to promote cricket at the grassroots level, ensuring that young talent from every corner of the district gets the recognition and opportunities they deserve.
